Transitioning from paediatric to adult healthcare can be a big step. This section of The Channel provides practical advice and resources to help prepare you for this change.
As you get older, and begin the process of moving from paediatric care to adults’ services, there are changes that happen with your epilepsy care. Your epilepsy team may change, you may visit a different hospital, and there may be some changes to the way your epilepsy is managed.
For most people, transitioning to adult care happens between the ages of 16 -18.
