Renell's Story

Many are left feeling unable to lead normal lives, and fear that they will have to let go of their dreams and ambitions.

Young Epilepsy are helping young people and their families to understand and cope with the realities of facing epilepsy, by connecting with them through our team of support workers, helpline and online advice.

In our new film, you can hear Renell’s story about how his support worker, Alex, helped him to overcome his initial feelings of fear and confusion through practical and emotional support.

Alex also helped Renell’s family and colleagues understand epilepsy better and provide Renell with the best support system.

Our experienced support workers provide information and guidance to young people and their families, helping them come to terms with the challenges their condition can bring. By talking openly about their epilepsy, young people feel less isolated and lonely, more independent and better able to cope with the condition.

Our #FacingEpilepsy campaign is designed to encourage children and teenagers to talk openly about their hopes and fears, and the realities of living with epilepsy.

Please donate today to ensure more mental health support is available for young people with epilepsy.
