Saving Money on Travel
Disabled Person’s Bus Pass
You might be able to get free or discounted bus travel by applying for a disabled person's bus pass from your local council:
Disabled Person’s Freedom Pass (London)
If you qualify for the freedom pass and live in Greater London , you can get free travel on trains, trams, tubes and buses.

Disabled Person’s Railcard
Anyone with epilepsy is entitled to a Disabled person’s railcard. You save 1/3 off adult train fares.
Saving Money on Activities and Going Out
Cinema
Free ticket for a friend when you buy a ticket.
The CEA Card allows you to have ONE free ticket for someone to go to the cinema with you to be there for you in case you need help. To get the free ticket, you will need to buy a full price ticket for yourself. You'll need to pay £6 for the card, which lasts for a year. Approx 90% of cinemas accept the card – check if your local one does here.
You can get a CEA card if you receive:
- Disability living allowance (DLA)
- Attendance allowance (AA)
- Personal independence payment (PIP)
- Armed forces independence payment (AFIP)
Theatre
Get concessions tickets at the theatre.
Check the website of your local theatre to find out what discounts it offers. If you're going to see a show in London, check out Access London Theatre for discounts and options for West End shows. The Access Membership scheme is available to anyone with a long term health condition.
National Trust
Free entry for a friend when you pay full price. You simply need to turn up and ask, but to make things even simpler, you can get a free Essential Companion card to show at the ticket office.
Discounted Football Tickets
Simply check out your team's website to see what discounts they offer disabled supporters, for example, Arsenal offer half price tickets!
