Help for children newly diagnosed with epilepsy
This Christmas, give the gift of hope to children diagnosed with epilepsy
The moment you're told your child has epilepsy, the world suddenly feels uncertain, and your heart fills with fear. What does this mean for their future? How will they cope? You desperately seek answers, but they're hard to find.
Trusted information and guidance are essential for newly diagnosed children, young people and their families. Your support will enable the design and development of new resources. No child or young person feels alone when they receive their diagnosis.
Please donate now. You can help children and their families get the support they need after an epilepsy diagnosis.
Watch Nicole in this short video. She bravely shares more about her son’s epilepsy diagnosis and why your donation would mean so much to her family this Christmas.
No family alone after a diagnosis
Nicole says, "From the moment of his first seizure, I felt so anxious and helpless. It was like one of my worst fears had been realised. From that moment I started watching him like a hawk. We were given a leaflet and then just left by ourselves. I couldn’t sleep. I was scared that Solomon would have a seizure and die in the night."
You search for things online and you don’t know what you’re looking at, whether it can be trusted or not. More needs to be done to share information about different types of epilepsy and the things that can occur after a seizure.Solomon's mum, Nicole
