Childhood Epilepsy - A Parent's Handbook
This hand book was the result of feedback from parents and professionals and is designed to help parents to find their way through the maze of information and services.
The step by step approach means that parents and older children can easily dip in and out of the handbook, so that the whole family can start to understand, manage and support someone with epilepsy.
This handbook includes:
- A simple guide to epilepsy, its diagnosis and treatment tips for dealing with school holidays, travel and living with epilepsy
- An 'epilepsy and teenagers' guide providing useful websites, forums, books and DVDs, sample seizure and health record charts
Caroline, whose nine year old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at age seven said: "I feel that you are putting the real live parent in focus, there are so many different aspects to managing this condition and I feel all of them are covered here. There is something new that jumps out at me each time I look. I like the fact that the sections give the information in a way that suits the time-poor parent!"
Complex Childhood Epilepsy - A Parent's Handbook
This handbook is for parents whose children have added complications in addition to their epilepsy.
It explains some of the serious epilepsies - often referred to as epilepsy plus, difficult to control epilepsy or intractable epilepsy – and provides detailed help and information on additional services which may be needed to support a child with more complex needs.
